The FEHRM is working to implement a single common federal health record between the departments of Defense, Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security as well as their community care partners. Along the way, the FEHRM launched the joint health information exchange that enhances the ability for both departments to share patient records with community health care partners – connecting DOD and VA with more than 61,000 hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, labs, federally qualified health centers, and nursing homes throughout the country.
